Workshops are customized to the needs of the group. Common formats include:
Focused work on audition technique — for film and television, for theatre, or for college programs. Material-based, with real-time coaching and feedback for every participant.
The specific demands of screen acting: stillness, eyelines, framing, and how to make strong choices that read without pushing. Especially valuable for actors trained primarily for stage. Braden brings his own Sony a7II camera and HDMI cable to display on your television or monitor.
Developing a safe, sustainable, and reliable emotional vocabulary. How to access genuine emotion specifically and on demand without re-traumatization.
An introduction to or deep dive into the BLS approach — script analysis, emotional access, personalization, and on-camera or stage-specific application. Suitable for actors at any level who want a clear, teachable system.

Duration:
• Half day (up to 3 hours): $800
• Full day (up to 6 hours): $1,400
• Multi-day intensives: quoted individually
Group size: No minimum or maximum — workshops are calibrated to the size of the group.
Location: Anywhere in the world or online. Workshop rates are for the coaching time. Travel is additional:
• Per diem: $75/day
• Travel days: $400/day
• Accommodation: client provides or reimburses at cost
• Airfare and ground transport: reimbursed at cost (economy domestic, business class for international flights over 5 hours)
Who can commission a workshop?
Almost any group of creatives can commission a workshop. That includes theatre companies, acting schools, agencies, management companies, and other organizations working with actors. Workshops can also be designed for groups of writers, directors, or other creatives who want to better understand the acting process and how actors approach their work.
Who are the workshops designed for?
Workshops can be built for actors at any level, from beginners to experienced professionals. They can also be designed for other creatives when the goal is to better understand acting, character, auditioning, or the actor's process.
Can you create a workshop specifically for our group?
Yes. Workshops can be built around a specific goal, group, or problem. If you want to focus on emotional access, audition technique, character development, physicality, script analysis, or something completely different, the workshop can be designed around what your group actually needs.
Can we request a topic that isn't already listed?
Absolutely. The listed workshops are examples, not limitations. If there's something specific your group wants to learn, we can build the workshop around it.
Can we use our own material?
Yes. Groups can provide their own material, including scenes, audition sides, scripts, or other material they want to work with. This can be particularly useful when the workshop is designed around a specific production, curriculum, or professional need.
Does everyone have to perform?
No. Workshops can be primarily instructional, primarily experiential, or a combination of both. If the group wants individual coaching or feedback, participants can work individually as long as there is enough time to give everyone meaningful attention.
Does every participant receive individual coaching?
They can, but it depends on the size of the group and the amount of time available. With a smaller group, there is more opportunity for individual work. With a large group, the workshop may need to focus more on instruction and group exercises rather than giving every participant extensive individual coaching.
How large can a workshop be?
There is no fixed maximum group size. However, the larger the group, the less individual attention each participant can receive. A workshop with 30 people will necessarily work differently from one with 8.
How long are the workshops?
Workshops are available as half-day, full-day, or longer engagements. The appropriate length depends on the subject, group size, and amount of practical work you want to include.
Can a workshop be done online?
Yes. Workshops can be conducted online for groups anywhere in the world. The format can be adapted to make the material and exercises work effectively over video.
Can you come to us?
Yes. If you want the workshop in person, I can travel. Travel arrangements and associated costs would be discussed as part of the engagement.
Can we come to you?
Yes. If your group wants to travel to BLS, up to 15 participants can be accommodated.
Are workshops available outside Los Angeles?
Yes. Workshops can take place anywhere, provided the logistics and travel arrangements work.
Can a workshop be built around our existing curriculum or training program?
Yes. If you're an acting school, theatre company, or other organization with an existing approach, the workshop can be designed to complement what you're already doing rather than requiring everyone to start over with a completely different system.
What makes a BLS workshop different from a typical acting workshop?
You are bringing in professional Los Angeles coaching rather than simply adding another generic acting seminar to your program. The goal is to expose participants to a more professional approach to the work, with practical techniques they can actually apply to acting, auditions, character development, and other areas of the craft.
Can a workshop be designed for professional actors?
Absolutely. Workshops can be aimed at working actors and can focus on refining existing skills rather than teaching basic acting concepts.
Can a workshop be designed for beginners?
Yes. The material and exercises can be adapted to the experience level of the group.
What if we don't know exactly what our group needs?
That's fine. We can discuss what you're seeing in the group, what you want them to improve, and what you're trying to accomplish. The workshop can then be built around those needs rather than forcing the group into a predetermined format.
Can a workshop include both teaching and practical work?
Yes. In fact, that combination is often the most useful. I can teach a concept, have participants apply it, and then coach or adjust the work based on what happens in practice.
